Remote Monitoring is a method to inspect and control the remote manufacture, exercise of instruments by local computer. Now days, many monitor system use Internet or Intranet to implement the object, and these ways has been used into many fields, such as visual meeting, remote manufacture factory and remote diagnose. The best advantage is the long transmission route. The data and video can transmit to the inspector on time between different distinct, so this is important to the development for the monitor industry.The paper introduces a multi-monitor system based Altera soft-core CPU Nios II on FPGA and uClinux operating system. The function is to accept the order of inspector to withdraw the data and graph from the fields and deliver them to the remote inspector. The system uses the most advantageous SOPC technology to develop i.e. combine the CPU, memory and other controller to one IC by configuration. So one hand it can improve the whole capability and integration level and use operating system to implement multi-mission, real time and concurrent operation.The paper is including: hardware design of the system such as Nios II soft core and other peripherals; knowledge of embedded operating system uClinux and the transport method; software design of web server, RS232 communicating program, CGI program, program of capturing the graph and etc. In the end, it gives a series of remote data in concert of a field electric net monitor instrument and the result is content. Compare with other monitor systems, the salient point of this system is to construct a kind of flexible 32-bit embedded hardware system composed by SOPC technology. The system can add or reduce components freely according as the will of customer. Embedded operation system uClinux that is the software platform makes a real multi-mission circumstance and more reliable of acquisition of data and graph and more stable of remote transmission. In addition, that the system can setup all kinds of application program can increase function of system and reduce time of software design.
