The Research And Monitoring Of JXTA Route Service

P2P networking has generated tremendous interest worldwide among both Internet surfers and computer networking professionals. Numerous businesses and Web sites have promoted "peer to peer" technology as the future of Internet networking.However, just like any other new technology, P2P network has its problems for its immaturity. Of the problems management is the most troublesome one because P2P drops the concept of centralization. One the other side, the actual efficiency of kinds of mechanisms, which are abstractly successful, is uncertain. As a result, how to monitor the P2P network effectively and to implement effective management become important research points. Of these points, the route mechanism is a big one.This paper introduces the JXTA Network Monitoring System (JNMS) and is focused on the design and implement of the route service monitor. The objective of this paper is to analyze the JXTA's route mechanism and its efficiency by the monitor service, and provide references for the further design and optimization of the P2P route mechanism. The methods used include both theoretic analysis and practical experiments.The paper includes 3 parts. First it introduces the background knowledge, including the concepts of P2P network and JXTA, the state of arts of these technologies. Second, it moves to the technologies related to the P2P and JXTA route mechanism. Lastly it's the design and practice of JNMS, especially the part of route service monitor system. Also the paper gives its conclusion about the JXTA route mechanism.
