The rapid developing of data services and the increasing of fiber capability request the switching structure of the optical network to have more intelligence, bigger switching capability, lower rate of backup and less cost, which the traditional optical network can't provide. So comes the Multi-granularity optical network based on the Automatic Switched Optical Network (ASON) that can provide several granularities of switching in transform plane and be intelligent. It will be the kernel technology in the next generation of optical network.Nowadays, the researches of Multi-granularity optical switching technology are carried on in many countries. This thesis introduces a hotspot in the Multi-granularity technology. It introduces the basic structures of Multi-granularity node structure and gives some analysis of their performances. Then the thesis mentions some point that we should pay attention to during the designing of Multi-granularity switching structure. As a flat being built up for the functions testing and further researching, This thesis focus on the designing and realization of the switching structure in the Multi-granularity nodes, which contains the scheme designing, the simplification processing, the introduction of the function and the same format in hardware and software designing of the boards. Then this thesis refers to the designing details of the CMU, L_ODU/OMU, C_ODU/OMU and AWG boards by the instruction of function requirements, work theories and the design of some important functions. At the last segment of this thesis, the author describes the experiment...
