| Because of the highly increased demand of broad band access and the mature of the long-haul backbone networks, the current Metro Area Networks can no longer meet the requirements such as grooming and aggregating. Technically, the MAN has two features, one is based on IP, the other is multi-service. The traditional SDH system is optimized for the voice communication, it can't adapt the IP service flexibly. Meanwhile, the current time-division-oriented SDH system will still exist in the near future. The highly increased demand of data service urged the service provider as well as the network operator to search a way to progress towards the dynamic IP service time. The MAN should be build in the most economical way with the fully consideration the features of the specific service, the demand of the customers and the already-existed systems. The SDH-based MSTP(Multi-service Transport Platform) adopt the present SDH system and become the mainstream choice of metro network in the future.Based on the relevant research of MSTP key technologies and the development and application of its intelligent functions, this thesis mainly focuses on the hardware implementation of the MSTP system. In this thesis, the present development of the MAN is briefly analyzed firstly, along with the structure and development of MSTP; Then the key technologies of MSTP, such as EOS related technologies, the synchronization of the clock and the intelligent cross connect technology are separately discussed. Moreover, introduce the structure of the hardware of MSTP and the function of each board inserted on the system, the development of the hardware of cross connect board is mainly discussed in this part, the relationships of the inter boards such as data synchronization and timing are also analyzed; The course of the hardware debugging of the whole system is then discussed, the factors affect the stability of the system are analyzed; In the end of this thesis lay stress on introducing the hardware implementation of the APS protocol with a method based on state transition table. |
