The IP Mobile Phone is the mobile phone equipped with the wireless LAN and its data communication system has been widely used in the field of the computers in the last years . But the voice communication system based on the IP technology is becoming more and more popular. According to the newest technology achievement, the high speed up to 11Mbit/s access to internet outdoors is available with the wireless LAN access service and the expense is cheap . So the IP Mobile Phone has a very wide market prospect.The ring will be a standard function of the IP Mobile Phone just like on the common cell phone . With the development of the cell phone and the coming of the 3G times , the chord ring has become a standard function of the modern cell phone . Due to the rapid popularization of the chord ring , the MIDI ring seems to be out of date .As a result, the number of the cell phone equipped with MIDI ring has become smaller and smaller and the chord ring has become a basic and standard function of a cell phone . Consequently , the chord ring is preferred on the IP Mobile Phone which is a rising communication tool.This paper which is based on the project named " the design of FM ring driver of the IP Mobile Phone with the operation system of VxWorks " that the author take part in discusses the process to design the FM ring driver system with the chip YMU759B which is produced by YAMAHA on the Tornado platform and realize the function to play chord ring on the system with a ring file format named Smaf.In the end, the conclusion is made, and the future application is prospected.
