Along with the development of the digital technology, the demand of the devices which are used to input graphics and pictures is more and more extended in the world .The large-scale engineering scanner as one of these devices is mainly used to implement the digital of some special fields such as military affairs, mapping, architecture and so on. At present the demand of this aspect is satisfied by importing the large-scale engineering scanner from abroad in our country. However, overseas products are expensive and the scanning quality can't content the user's demand entirely. Therefore, researching and designing the large-scale engineering scanner which possesses self-determination information property right has high social value and economic value. The demand of the scanner device provides wide markets for the embedded system software which is used to control the work of the scanner. The research content of this paper is a part of"Engineering Scanner Eembedded System Software", the main task is using VxWorks Real-time Operating System to control the work of the scanner through the USB host port of the RSC S3C2440A board. The author uses the method of combining theory and practice, the part of the theory analyses the software and hadware frame of the USB host system according to USB Rev 1.1 Protocol and OHCI Rev 1.0 specification, then expatiates the USB host protocol stack driver of VxWorks Real-time Operating System. The part of practice transplants the USB host protocol stack driver of the VxWorks Real-time Operating System to the RSC S3C2440A board by using the developing tool Tornado2.2,and implements the scanner device driver basing on it.
