Chinese Youth ,a periodical ,with its longest history of publication of the Communist Party of China,is the representative of youth periodicals, and acted an important role in the Chinese contemporary history and the news history. Its 83 years long publication-running experiences witnessed the social changes of China as well as the ups and downs of its own business. Chinese Youth in the new period is a miniature of its legendary experience. It's advantageous for us to understand and grasp the complete picture of Chinese Youth if we have a limited view of Chinese Youth in the new period.After resume published in September of 1978, Chinese Youth started its new development period. In this period, Chinese Youth once had the extraordinary experience and the unprecedented achievement. Faced with the market economy challenge, Chinese Youth also once encountered the unprecedented difficult position. Now, Chinese Youth, as the first institution periodical who comprehensively faces market, explaining the question that how to run the institution publication under the market economy condition, and has been successfully reformed. The successful editorial idea and the market operation method of Chinese Youth are worthy summing up. In this thesis, I present systematically Chinese Youth's complete picture. On the basis of it, I attempt to draw a tentative theoretical summary and hope that the experience of Chinese Youth can be made use of by today's youth periodicals.The thesis consists of five parts.
