In recent years, China's Universities and Academic Schools havebeen taking reforms, to follow the development of new technology, andmeet the needs of society with excellent graduates, by recombiningdepartments and disciplines, abandoning old specialties, and adding newones. The new specialty challenges Academic faculties. How to chooseteaching references, how to teach effectively, they feel dizzy. Thesefaculties are badly in need of someone who can collaboratively makeplans for them, solve all the difficulties facing them. On the other hand,the wide use of new technology such as computer and internet, impartsthe main channel of scholarly communication new characteristics.Numbers of E-journals come out and win absolutely the market. Manyacademic papers are published directly on net. Academic E-resources arepouring to academic researchers. How to identify relative information forteaching and research, how to retrieval academic databases effectively,these burdened faculties are badly in need of an instructor, a collaborativepartner, to help them fulfill research tasks quickly, effectively andsuccessfully.Academic Libraries should change their ways and strategies of services, with the changing of environment and users. Subject librarians are the right choice. They have mastered academic knowledge in a certain field or specialty, also know much about theories of library science , or got library service experiences. They can retrieval the needed information on internet expertly, they have got perfect information retrieval skills, and nice foreign language skills.To study subject librarian's communication of academic information from the aspect of communication science is a new try. This paper starts from the background and basis of study on subject librarian's communication of academic information, then turns to the point, analyzes characteristics, types and channels of communication of academic information, studies communication theories of subject librarian'scommunication of academic information. At last, the paper probes ways to realize communication of academic information successfully.There are 3 chapters in this paper.Chapter 1, Reviews. The author studies university's role nowadays, which is the background of this study, then makes a review on subject librarians in recent years, as the research basis.Chapter 2, Theories studies on subject librarian's communication of academic information. In this chapter, the author studies characteristics, types and channels of academic information communication;Academic Library's role of serving teaching and researching;Subject librarian, the right choice for communication of academic information;communication theories of subject librarian's communication of academic information;and analysis of successful cases on academic information communication.Chapter 3 is the last part of the paper. Suggestion of ways to realize communication of academic information successfully is suggested.
