The Design and Application of National Infrastructure of Mineral Rock and Fossil Resources For Science and Technology which is named NIMRF in brief is one of the key projects of National Ministry of Science. As a part of the national natural resources platform, NIMRF mainly focuses on saving mineral rock and fossil resources from nation wide, collects those resources information from all departments, business and personal belonging at the same time. As a result, it will provide service and data support for science popularization and professional researching in the mineral and fossil field.Users access to NIMRF could search data by data searching model. Minerals and fossils data consist of public data and professional data. Public data which describes basic properties of mineral and fossil sample provides knowledge used for science popularization. And professional data offers more detailed information of these samples, it provides data for specialists researching. Both of these two parts are associated by NIMRF members mechanism, users are able to access to professional data through public data by registering as a member of NIMRF. The item labeled with "Original record address" of public data properties is the interface of these two parts.The NIMRF is based on J2EE technology architecture, many of which technology are used during the project being developed. J2EE constructs application system by using MVC design pattern which makes the program more universal, lessens data description and decomposes coincidence.The project is developed under the frame of Struts which is also based on MVC. ActionServlet is used of controller, JSP is used of view and JavaBean is the model. In Struts frame, there are full of taglib in JSP. Tags encapsulate lots of page logic, which makes the page program more plain and legible. The MIMRF system also used Oracle database, it was deployed in Linux environment which makes server more safe and more steady.
