MPSR P3S is a brand new switch matrix for System 12 Exchange of Alcatel, which is used to replace the aged Digital Switch Network (DSN). MPSR (Muti-Protocol Self Routing) has some important properties such as self-routing, packet switching, consistent delay time, high capacity and high reliability etc. At the same time, it still keeps backward compatible external interface, which can protect the custom's vast investigation significantly. This is a very important aspect due to the fact that there's huge number of installed site in China. The configuration management and maintenance is done by the software modules distributed on each onboard controller in the system. The software modules need to communicate with each other during operation. Unlike voice traffic, computer communication is a classical burst mode. In a given moment, the traffic could increase dramatically and exceed the maximum capability of the communication system. The old communication software has some defects such as no proper layer splitting, no reliable transport service provided for the application, no congestion control and no stream service etc. It works well if the traffic load is not so high, but the problems emerge and cause many troubles when the traffic load increases to a certain level. For example, due to lack of congestion control, the congestion will make the packet lost rate increasing, which will cause the application tries to send more packet (retry), but this just make the congestion even worse. The object of this paper is to design a new architecture targeting the defects of the old architecture and according to the properties of internal communication system. Some classical algorithm and model are used in the...
