Grid is viewed as the third wave succeeding traditional Internet and Web, and is called the third generation Internet. The first generation Internet connects globally distributed computers with TCP/IP and has E-mail as its main application. The sec-ond generation Internet called Web realizes the connectivity of web pages all over the world and information services such as web page browsing and e-commerce are available on it. The third generation Internet tries to interconnect all the resources on the Internet, including computing resources, storage resources, communication re-sources, software, information, and knowledge.
