The automatic collection and transmission of hydrologic, as a modern technique of real-time collection, translation and analysis of hydrologic, is an effective way to forecast and control the flood in river basins or an reservoirs and make rational use of water resource. It is one of aims of modern hydrology. However, many of products are designed with MCU, which makes them have the advantage of cheap and easy to design. With the increase of functions, the system becomes more and more complicate. So it's necessory to rebuild it with new technique.With the development of electronic technique, embedded technology has been widely used in all kings of fields, with respect to its small size, high performance, high reliability and oriented object.In this paper, a method that constructing hydrologic terminal by using embedded technology is given up. First the demand of the terminal is analysed, and the system function goals and required performance are confirmed. μC/OS-II, which has many advantages, such as free source code, preemptive kernel, easy to transplant, hign stablbility, reliability, is used as OS of the terminal, after contrasting with μClinux in the way of scheduling.Then hardware and software designs are introduced in detail. It is discussed that the S3C44B0X and its peripheral circuits, memory system circuit, communication circuit, LCD display circuit, keyboard circuit and power circuit.
