With the people' s rapid enhancement of the requirement for the computer software application, the computer software design is becoming more and more complex. How to design and develop computer software in a more reasonable way, and how to manage the computer software life cycle in a more scientific and efficient way is a hot topic nowadays. The traditional structural software design focuses on implementation of function and the control of process. Once the software requirement changes or the system needs to be improved (and this happened definitely), the maintenance of the software becomes very difficult. The object-oriented software developing technique has been the focus of software organizations after the concept of object-oriented was put forward in 1980s' . Object-oriented technique such as Booch, Coad/Yourdon, OMT and Jacobson was already widely accepted in object-oriented software developing field.Object-oriented has become a main technique in the field of computer science, and its methodology and technology has also become one of the most concerned researches. As an important part of Object-Oriented Software Engineering, Object-Oriented Analysis has been taken into account too. So far, there have many published materials for presenting or comparing the OOA methodology, but few for deeply analyzing into how to apply the OOA methodology in the actual course of software development. The target of OOA is to make the analysis of the problem, to make sure of what the system for constructing should do, and to build the model of the system. This paper introduce the commonly course to achieve the OOA target, provides some analyses, artifices and solution, and clarifies how to apply the OOA methodology in middle-small scale MIS by means of analyzing the Distribution Management System (DMS). It also summarizes the Unified Modeling Language(UML).
