The Design And Implementation Of Grid Portal Based On Component Model

As the internal part of the Grid project or Grid middleware, the traditional grid portal is highly dependent on project or middleware and hard to be developed on its own. With the development of grid portals, plenty of repetition has been done, which brought great waste and influenced the generalization of Grid computing seriously, In order to solve this problem and improve the development efficiency of grid portal, we present a new grid portal development solution based on component model.The progress of Grid computing and traditional portal technology provides strong supports to the advance of Grid Portal Architecture based on Component Model (GPortal-CM). This architecture can be divided into four layers: resource layer, grid service layer, grid portal component layer and presentation layer. The grid portal component layer and presentation layer is the key part of this architecture. With grid portal component layer, we make the Web layer and the grid service layer loose-coupling. The presentation is compliant with JSR-168 and defines the appearance and interaction procedure of the components. It also makes the components portable between varieties of portal servers. The resource layer and grid service layer are defined by Grid Infrastructure. With lots of observation of grid portal, we summarized the key functions of grid portal.In the grid portal component layer we implemented four key components: security component, resource monitoring component, service management component and data management component. In the implementation of components we gave fully consideration of present grid technology progress and implemented the presentation layer interface.
