At present,with the improvement of people's living standard, the demand for dairy products becomes greater and greater, and its quality requirement becomes higher and higher. As one of the important indices of evaluating quality of milk and dairy products, the quantity of bacterium group in dairy products is being paid more and more attention to. Currently, the quality of homemade dairy products is uneven, one of the fundamental causes is incapable of online, quickly and accurately measuring the quantity of bacterium group in dairy products, therefore the quality of dairy products can't be guaranteed. The quantity testing of microorganism in dairy products is a quite important experiment item, it is the key in connection with whether producing technique is suitable, whether products are qualified and whether measurement is consummate. The general principle of modern food industry development is quick, accurate and compact, and this is also the important purpose of developing microorganism quick-measurement.Based on the careful comparison of different bacteria quantitative methods used in the dairy industry around the world, We propose the new method to detect the bacteria colony based on the color-changing feature. The mechanization of this method is: based on the color-changing feature of resazurin, using the color change data of milk measured by image sensors, we build the relation between the total amount of bacteria in milk and the color change by mathematic software. Through the incidence of Visual C++ and DirectX, in the main program generated by Visual C++, we can use DirectShow to accomplish the revisiting of media documents, video capturing, etc. Hence, the design of the milk bacteria colony detection system is completed.
