With the support from the item of National Nature Science Foundation of China (No. 2003AA414310): Manufacturing Grid and Manufacturing Resource Cooperation Management. In order to solve the problem of parts resource sharing in the process of product design, web service encapsulation of parts library (PL) resource is studied, the method of PL resource sharing is given, the integration technology is provided.In the 1st chapter, the importance of PL resource for manufacturing enterprise is described. The background of this paper is analyzed from 5 aspects: networked manufacturing, manufacturing resource sharing, system integration, distributed application system, web service. Current situation of research and application of PL resource is reviewed. The contrast to several known PL are carried on and their deficiency are pointed out. The consideration and model of PL resource sharing in our country is put forward. The main content and research meaning of this paper is given at last.In chapter 2, the integration framework of heterogeneous distributed PL is given and realization of this framework is provided. PL resource encapsulation based on service-oriented is put forward. The situation of application of enterprise and requirement of service-oriented PL is discussed. The building method of service-oriented architecture PL is studied.In chapter 3, the requirement of distributed PL for enterprise is discussed. Web application and web service is compared. The centralized system model is studied. Its' construction is analyzed and lack of this model is pointed out. Some new design is added to this system. Another model—distributed PL is studied. The advantage of this model is provided. The interoperability problem of web service is described. At last, a concomitant model of web and web service is put forward. An application model is realized, that is an autonomic, loosely coupled, dynamic call distributed PL system.In the 4th chapter, the architecture of distributed PL is given. The web service interface is designed according to the need of resource encapsulation and granularity control.
