Research And Implementation Of The Multi-tier Distributed Educational Management System Based On DCOM

In recent years, the teaching resources are becoming scarcer than they were in Higher Learning Institutions (colleges or universities) with the school-running scale expanded continually. Since every college or university sets up a certain number of elective courses, with the development of Campus Net and with the adoption of credits, the original Educational Management System designed on the basis of traditional framework has not satisfied the needs of managements of teaching affairs in Higher Learning Institutions. Therefore, it is indispensable for us to utilize new technology and to explore a new framework so as to accomplish the design of this new Educational Management System which is to meet new needs.On the basis of comparing the framework and designing methods adopted currently by Educational Management System, by means of analysis of the new demands of improving the present Educational Management System and by means of utilizing the Multi-tier Distributed Framework and the techniques of DCOM groupware, this dissertation presents a new model of Multi-tier Distributed Information System for Educational Management (M-Disem), which is a mixed framework combined C/S with B/S. The two frameworks are based on DCOM. The thesis also amply demonstrates the key techniques of improving the operating efficiency of the M-Disem. Moreover, based on the new mixed framework of M-Disem, the dissertation succeeds in designing the Prototype System of M-Disem. The dissertation mainly concerns the following five aspects:1.
