Digital Filter is one of the most important techniques in Digital Signal Analysis. Useful signals can be extracted out of complex signals through digital filter. Synchronously, noise and interferential signals can be prevented in order to use initial signals effectively. Digital filter refers to many arithmetic and fields in form of recursive and non-recursive difference equation. It is realized through hardware, software or both of them. An all-around digital filtering test and analysis needs all kinds of expensive special instruments, which should be well organized. Obviously, it is not a piece of cake for common user. And the Intelligent Controls-oriented Virtual Instrument is a fire-new model in development of measure instrument. It brings a fire-new appearance to digital filtering analyzer that using the technology of Intelligent Controls-oriented Virtual Instrument in the manufacture design of it.The paper introduces the general ideal of Intelligent Controls-oriented Virtual Instrument What the ideal is that intelligent cells of instrument can compose various instruments, and can show them to user on PC, which are derived from virtual controls by combine virtual control and functions of instruments through functions endowing. The intelligent cells of instrument named Intelligent Virtual Controls is a kind of living virtual part endowed instrument functions, which describe the appearance and the essential of Intelligent Controls-oriented Virtual Instrument.The basic theory, purposes and methods of digital filter analysis are studied in this paper. A model of digital filter in form of Intelligent Controls-oriented Virtual Instrument is built. Based on the software reuse principal, digital filter software system consists of the following function parts: System Initialization modal, Digital filter arithmetic model, System display model and Results saving model. Each function model is introduced detailedly. In order to develop digital filter software system effectively, a mixed programming method is used. The strong signal processing software MATLAB and the most efficiency object oriented programming environment VC++ are mixed successfully.Adopting Intelligent Controls-oriented Virtual Instrument, Structured Design thought and software reuse thought synthetically, the article introduced the constitution of intelligent controls-oriented digital filter analyzer, integrated many typical filter arithmetic in the developing system of VMIDS.
