The Integration Of Heterogeneous Database Based On XML And Middleware

With the development of computer science and technology, many enterprises and government departments developed a lot of totally independent information systems. The different information systems have been formed many isolated information islands because these systems developed by different developer in different stage. These enterprises/government departments urgently need to integrate these independent application systems in order to realize information sharing. In other words, the information application of enterprises come to the stage of integration. The integration of enterprise's application firstly is the data integration because data is the heart of enterprises. This makes the heterogeneous database's integration an important subject.Middleware is a class of software which is between application software and OS. It shields the complexity of OS so the developers may face simple and standard developing environment. JAVA Message Service adopts the asynchronous mechanism to easily realize the loose coupling between the business systems and realize reliable and stalwart news transmission through the service provider of news (MOM Message Oriented Middleware) . JMS is suitable for the application integration of enterprises. XML describes and exchanges data with the form that has nothing to do with the platform,language and protocol, and it's self-describing makes it suitable for data interchange between different applications. XML offered an effective way to solve the problem of interchanging data between heterogeneous databases.The article analyses domestic and international research status and the existing problems on heterogeneous database's integration firstly. Secondly, it introduces Middleware, JMS, XML and analyses the teleology advantages in programming, communication between heterogeneous databases and heterogeneous database's integration. Finally,It proposes a integrated model of heterogeneous database based on XML and middleware by the analysis of the goal and existing problem of integration of heterogeneous database. It solves the mode and format of transmission and distilling changed data in data communication of different platform and different databases. It uses developing tools(weblogic+jbuilder) based J2EE to realize heterogeneous database's integration including Oracle, Sqlserver, Mysql and Access. The model has the functions of distilling changed data, sending messages and receiving message. It has the characteristics of different platform, loose coupling, asynchronies, reliability and easy expansibility.The paper has seven parts. Part one is introduction. Part two is the introductions of middleware. Part three is JMS standard. Part four is XML standard. Part five is the model design of heterogeneous database's integration.
