HHMR(hand-held meter reading) system is researched in this dissertation . The selection of embedded GUI , software platform and hardware platform is showed specially in the dissertation .The design of GUI is described in this dissertation , through compareing and analysing means of data processing bring forward a new kind of data struct suiting HHMR system , using this data struct can shorten time that lookup or display user information.As the useful life of battery that be charged up every time is very short, power managed on consuming electricity equipment be brought forward in the dissertation, when a operator doesn't deal with hand-held terminal for a space , the light of touch screen will be closed and through controlling printer reduces resume of power.Commonly upgrade service or provided complexity service of update be not provided in the embedded system, A kind of fast way be brought in the dissertation.Through copying upgrade soft to SD card , when a user keyboards the button of upgrade in the main interface upgrade will be finished after reset.Now embedded terminal has a friendly interface,that supplies convenient operation to user. Embedded system supplies advantage to a user , at the same time spirits up pursuer to develop excellent performance of embedded system to suit society need and improves life quality of people. This thesis is based on this aim to develop a kind of intelligent embedded terminal.
