Study And Application Of SIP Using Formal Method

With the progress of society and the development of communication industry, People's demand for communication service increases day by day. SIP(Session Initiation Protocol), an signaling control protocol for creating, modifying, and terminating sessions, is designed to be independent of the lower-layer transport protocol and can be extended with additional capabilities and can achieve the separation of call and service , is suitable for the development of new network application.In this paper the author analyzes and studies SIP and emphasizes on SIP transaction which accomplishes its functionality through the maintenance of finite state machines and analyze the implementation of SIP transacton in oSIP(an implementation of SIP) , and make formal description to the implementation of SIP transaction in SDL (Specification and Description Language) .
