With the high-speed development of Internet, the mankind strides into a brand-new information age. As the theme of this age, the multimedia communication combining with video, audio and data is concerned by more and more people. The embedded multimedia terminal equipment is an indispensable part of multimedia communication system. Its strong functions and wide application prospects make it become a focus that field in recent years.The purpose of this subject is to design a wireless multimedia system, realizing video, audio and other signals to transmit and deal with in real time. In this system, I am mainly responsible for the design and realizing of the embedded multimedia terminal equipment.Firstly, this text has introduced the concept and development trend of multimedia communication and the application prospects of the embedded terminal equipment, put forward a total block diagram of a wireless multimedia system, carried on detailed exposition to the embedded system. Secondly, it has provided the design of software and hardware of the embedded multimedia terminal equipment on this basis, and concretly introduced the debugging course of every part of this embedded equipment. Thirdly, it has analysed in detail the frame format of the received video which accord with CCIR656 standard and the principle of how to display image on the terminal equipment. Then has offered the project of how to show video on LCD through effective video data detection, YCrCb—RGB color space conversion and 24 bit-8 bit image format conversion. Finally, it has provided the overall flow chart of this project.The wireless multimedia system we have studied can be widely applied to video controlling, information household appliances, intellectual district etc..
