HSDPA Network Deployment Study

The capability of data transporting needs to be imporved since data service in mobile telecommunication network increases day by day. HSDPA could bring better downlink data distribution, especially for the asymmetric one.The key characters of HSDPA and changes brought by it in network architecture are proposed firstly. Then several strategies of HSDPA deployment are discussed and HSDPA indoor deployment is an emphasis.The method of HSDPA network construction is studied mainly in this paper. Through combining classical link budget and capacity estimation with HSDPA, the HSDPA network construction is analyzed deeply. UL/DL link budget is analyzed in detail and compared with R4. Different network estimation flows are given based on HSDPA over R4 or direct HSDPA.The influence to R4 network deployment brought by HSDPA is paied close attention nowadays. From theory and simulation aspects, the HSDPA effect to coverage of R4 common channels and service channels are investigated. The impact to R4 network capacity over different network architecture is also considered.
