The Research And Implemention Of Resource Access Service Of Information Grid

With the rapid evolution of information technology, our lives have been influenced greatly. Now, many enterprises have built their information systems on Internet with web technique. Users not only obtain the convenience of information system but also suffer from the trouble of information redundancy and information isolated island.The purpose of VEGA Information Grid is to remove information redundancy and achieve information integration. The function of resource access service is the accessing of distributed and heterogeneous resources. This article will discuss how the different resources are accessed in information grid.This article describes following parts:1. The accessing of relational databases. The accessing of relational databases is implemented via Web Services. A series of encapsulation is necessary before the interface is published with Web Services.2. The accessing of file system. Imitating the relational model of relational database, a relational model of file is used to manage the metadata of files. A new SQL which is similar to the SQL used in relational database is used to operate file.3. Virtualization of physical relation. Some physical relations are created which contain the metadata of the resource access service and data sources. They are used to discover and access data sources.The resource access service has been deployed in VEGA Information Grid in Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The function and performance of the service is satisfying.
