The publication has an attribute of uniqueness in aspect of contents and its language limitation determines the restriction of the publishing region. However, as alone the development of the economic globalization, the whole world is becoming an integrated part with all aspects such as economy, politics and culture communicate more often. The development of the economic globalization drive the globalization of every field and the publishing industry is not an exception either. This paper explains the development of the global publishing industry under the economic globalization and further more points out the countermeasures of Chinese publishing industry under such a circumstances. There are five chapters in this paper:Chapter 1 introduces that the economic globalization is driving the head of publishing globalization and make it a global field of vision. Then it points out the character, impetus and trend of the global publishing industry.Chapter 2 indicates that we cannot neglect the negative impact of the long term planned economy on Chinese publishing industry in which there are many hidden troubles that cannot be overlooked. How to solve these problems becomes the big deal of the government and the publishers. This chapter analyzes the competitive status of Chinese publishing industry by the external and internal factors and then analyzes the actuality and problems of it on the basis of industry organization theory.Chapter 3 explains that in order to comply with the publishing globalization trend, all publishers in China should speed up their pace in adopting international practices in the publishing industry. Under this circumstance, Chinese publishing industry has realized the rare opportunity and tries her hard to seize it.
