The Study Of Personalized Information Service System Based On Ontology

Personalized Information Service (PIS) is a solution for the "Information Overload" and "Information Labyrinth" problems in the context of the "Information Explosion". By way of user customization, system recommendation and auto push function, PIS system can provide individualized Information Service for different users according to their different subject, research direction and use habit. It will be the main mode of information service in the future for it conforms to the development trend of in formation service under network environment. But now in personalized services research, the main focus was on the basis of keywords to describe users and resources characteristics, and through keyword matching to make users and information resources counterpart, with little regard to semantic level, therefore, lost a lot of semantic aspects of information. As a new method of knowledge description, Ontology can extend knowledge description to the semantic level, it overcome the deficiencies of the keyword description method. It has good prospects in personalized services applications.The purpose of this study is research personalized information services system which based on Ontology. It combines traditional technology and Ontology doctrines and methods of information to find users' interest from the vastness of the Web resources and provide users with personalized information services.The steps initiated research on topics, including four main parts.Part 1: Discussion of the rapid development of network information services to the far-reaching implications, which make personalized information services, information services network environment model trends. And then talk about the lack of semantic aspect and the reason of using Ontology.
