The highways are the aortas of the nation for economy development, so the grade, the quantity and the information degree of the highways represent the nation development level. In recent years, along with the fast development of the nation economy and with national foundation facilities' strong development, highways are rapidly developing, the efficient management of the highways are becoming more and more important.Through the study of Quangui and Guiyang road, in order to supply science theory and method for the administrator, the main idea of the thesis is to illuminate the key technology of highway information system and the application in highway information query and spatial analyzing.At first, adopting GIS peculiar method of regional frame combine layer to organize the data, we formed the spatial database through the choice of the data source, data coordinate translation, data format translation, spatial data register, etc. Also, we set up attribute database, multimedia database by surveying and collecting all kinds of data.Afterwards, we set forth the theory and technology of DEM, including the theory and technology of the DEM, the technique and means of gathering data, making model, arithmetic of interpolation, the extract of the landform factor of slope and aspect.Finally, we adopted self-defining secondary development method to form the software of highway information management system based on Supermap component. With it user can realize the ordinary function of desktop GIS software, such as display the geographical data, data edit, query, spatial analyzing, attribute data management, etc. It also has the function of printing map and statistical analysis .Moreover, it can analogously display and spatially query the landform map of study region in three dimension ,as well as imitate flying & flooding effects.The thesis synthetically used GIS technology, secondary development technology, database technology, combined with the characteristics of highway to realize by computer. This widen the application of existing technology, and have significant meaning to guide highway information management.
