Research And Implementation Of Workflow Management System Based On Web Service

Business processes play important roles in enterprise's management.There are various business processes in modern production and management activities. Among the functions which WFMS should implements, modeling the business processes, supporting automation and continuous improvement and passing various messages according to user defined business rules are most essential. But with the rapid development of Internet-based application, the traditional WFMS system cannot meet the requirement of the modern process management system. Because the disadvantage in the dynamic process and cooperation in process, the traditional WFMS cannot do well in the distribute application of multi-departments and multi-organizations.Web Service is the hope. Web Service is the single entity that is released in the web and included one or more functional entities. Because of the natural dynamic characteristic and co-operation in process, Web Service is proposed to settle the problem in the traditional systems. So it will bring the new development period with the application of Web Service in workflow technology.In this paper, the workflow and Web Service technology are introduced. On surveying the development situation of workflow products and comparing the advantages and drawbacks of different flow models, a new method, Web Service-based workflow modeling method, is researched, and the workflow model's flexibility is enhancement by introducing Web Service technology in the modeling.Based on analysis of existing Workflow engine, we put forward a design proposal of Workflow engine which is support operation mutually and implement this Workflow engine in this paper. Then we design a kind of EAI architecture model based on Web Service which is aimed at the workflow existing problem of "Information Isolated Island" .The model can solve this problem very well.In view of the insufficiency of the tradition function-oriented information system, we propose the system structure of the process-oriented workflowinformation system. On the basis of this system structure,we implement a workflow management system which is used in the dynamic management system of survey and design project of SWHI.
