Along with the deepening of enterprise informatization, the role reporting system takes is becoming more and more outstanding. Enterprise reporting is widely applied in many industries as it's intuitionistic, abundant in expressive force, and bulky information. Right now, Enterprise Reporting System has been an indispensable part of EIS (Enterprise Information System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). After decades of development, a good phase has formed, in which kinds of design blue prints exist and many reporting productions are ready for choosing. The progress J2EE has experienced brings Enterprise Reporting System huge chance which hasn't been met before. However, traditional Enterprise Reporting Systems used to depend on special reporting servers tightly, so that they can not meet the high requirement of expansibility and flexibility in enterprise applications.Combined with the kernel principle of J2EE, integrated with several design patterns, the thesis brings out a brand new Common Reporting Framework. The framework is designed in a structured way and is divided into five separated modules: Authentication Module, Presentation Module, Business Module, Report Engine and Database Module. The thesis introduces these five modules in detail respectively. Besides, it provides a series of public mechanisms, such as User Entitlement, Data Cache, Access Security, etc. These utilities help enterprises customize their own reporting system rapidly and conveniently.Common Reporting Framework satisfies the demand of good flexibility and expansibility, and is maintenable. It will benefit enterprises in the rapid-vavariational business environment, so that enterprises can gain succeed in furious competition, lower the cost of running, keep ahead in informatization and automation.
