Online Reporting Delivery Platform Based On XML And XSLT

Report is a significant method of retrieving and anglicizing information and it plays an import role in enterprise level's information management. Also, report has varies of content of format from different customs. Every customer, not only company but individual will need report for investigation. Currently, Internet become enterprise information management mainly platform, creating and manage report is the duty of web based application. The application will create report automatically, and also manage exist reports from database. Create report, will create a report from data or convert exist other format's report to certain format report, such as PDF format which is popular between customer. Management report, it will monitor exist report status, change the status if necessary.Reporting system mainly consists of four components: report configure component, report extractor component, report generator component, report delivery component. Two of them: report configure component and report delivery component has already exist in the legacy system, and can be reused in the newly reporting system.Reporting system implemented front end UI with Flex, and report engine with J2EE. Report content uses XML as its description language, and XSLT to store the report layout information, to generate final report. If the current report is similar to report design before, then use them directly, if the report is widely apart from those designed before, then create a few new template's sections, new report extractor and new section extractors as well. This template information and parameter is stored in database.The thesis firstly introduce the report system's background and technology used in this system, secondly introduce the background of reporting configuration UI, hen based on business requirement background, designs and implements the reporting system's extractor and generator component, at last it summarizes the reporting system and describes its bright future.
