The degree of education information keeps increasing, and in response, more and more schools and education management departments of all levels have built up their own EMIS(education management information system), by which they can gather and manage education information of all levels and kinds to make a scientific decision. But the diversity of each department's informatization progress, the various program tools and frameworks they use, and lack of the on-line information commutation specification result in the difficulties in exchanging tbe on-line data and repeated investment, which cannot satisfy the demand of the informatization construction.Therefore, during the process of realizing the education management informatization, a perfect specification for system interoperability framework is needed urgently to carry out the information sharing and exchange between various EMIS. To carry out the information sharing effectively, a new platform should be constructed based on the old EMIS to integrate the dispersion information of each school or every department, not changing the existing management style, and keeping the original information management function and the old legal operation. This kind of project need not consider the complicated problem of management reorganization in EMIS construction, which is a feat solution at present. So Chinese e-Learning Technology Standardization Committee drew up the specification for EMIF to make information sharing and system interoperability become possible and raised the education information management efficiency consumedly.Based on the deep understanding of the specification for EMIF CD 1.1, according to the system structure specification, the message specification and the data specification of the specification for EMIF, the thesis designed and developed the general interface application—Agent, which can be used to connect different EMIS with ZIS. The thesis discussed the method of the Agent design and implementation, the mechanism of the message processing and transmission, the interface design and realization, and the method how to transform the data object to the standard format. The Agent designed and realized in the thesis can process the modificatory information of data objects and the inquiry information at real time, and save the information as some format documentstemporarily. This method can avoid the problem of complicated message list processing, and improve the efficiency of information inquiry.Chapter 1: Foreword. Introduce the research background of the specification for EMIF, the establishment and development of the specification for education management information system interoperability in our country, the research contents and aim of the thesis.Chapter 2: The theories and techniques of education management information system interoperability framework. Introduce some methods of the software interoperability, the system structure of the Agent in the specification for EMIF and the technique foundation of the Agent design and implementation.Chapter 3: The agent design in the specification for EMIF. Discuss the demand analysis and the function model of the Agent, the database design and the data objects processing, the message processing and communication mechanism from the logic aspect, also show the function structure diagram of the Agent.Chapter 4: The Agent implementation in the specification for EMIF. Present the detailed design and implementation of the Agent based on the design project of chapter 3, the maintenance strategy and the analysis on test result of the Agent.Chapter 5: Summary. Discuss the function of the Agent realized and point out the aspects that need further improvement.
