Design And Implementation Of The ZIS Of EMIF

With the rapid development of computer network and communication technology, education becomes more and more informational. The expanding scale of high education enrollment has brought new shocks and challenges to the traditional mode of education management, so the technical level of computer-based education management needs to be improved urgently.At present, most of the colleges, middle schools and elementary schools have their own education management information systems, but most of these systems have different sources. It is because of the complex sources of these products that there are a lot of problems in practical application. Such as the differences of the developers and development platforms make all the management information systems lack unified standards, short in compatibility, normative and interoperability. Coupled with the differences of network platforms, it is very difficult to share information resources among the different schools and various departments, thereby there are many "information isolated islands". The duplicate low level development of resources have greatly wasted a lot of human, material and financial resources. Many softwares are not flexible and exoteric enough, so it is very hard to upgrade and maintain, which are easy to be discarded because of their low adaptability to the development of technology and the demand of education management. A great deal of softwares are inflexible in application;they can't be used in network, or only can be used in LAN , or intranets within schools, and can't be used in Internet. So it is one of the current hot education management study that how to make it is possible to share resources and achieve interoperability among different education management information systems.So, the China E-Learning Technology Standardization Committee established national Education Management Information System Interoperability Framework, which breaks the traditional mode of education management. The appearance of EMIF makes it is possible to join the dispersed and isolated education management information systems together, and to share data and achieve interoperability among systems, which greatly improves the efficiency of education information management.The work of the paper is to design and relize one of the important components------ZIS (Zone Integration Server) according to EMIF norms. The design and implementation of the ZIS is strictly according to EMIF operating norms, data norms and message norms. ZIS use XML to define common data object and Http protocol to transmit messages which are in form of XML.The paper simplely introduces the mechanism of education management information system interoperability and EMIF norms, message norms, and stresses the functional design of ZIS, treatment scheme of eleven kinds of messages and idiographic implementation procedures, including the design and implementation of all the datasheets and storage process.
