Research And Implementation Of Software Configuration Management Tools Based On Process Management

As the foundation of software development process management and improvement, software configuration management starts with the beginning of development and finishes when the software is eliminated, supports and controls the whole software life cycle. The modern software development organization is facing the pressure of competition which intensifies unceasingly, simultaneously suffers the cost and quality of software itself. At the same time, the process of software development is more and more complex, and the management of middle products (development documents and procedure and so on) produced in the development becomes harder to control. The way to solve the problem is to strengthen the configuration management. However in the current software configuration management system the support also has very many insufficiencies to the process, in order to enhance the ability of process controlling and management of software configuration, and to enhance the adaptation of different development process, it's necessary to add the management of process to configuration management.This thesis first introduces some basic concepts of configuration management, and then does the research on problems of current configuration management systems, and brings up the necessity of supporting the process management in configuration management, researches and designs the software configuration management system based on process management, and implements the part functions of the system. This system using development library, controlled library and production library control the evolution of configuration management item; using the workflow to support the flow of the whole configuration management; implements the functions of perfect, flexible configuration management, baseline management, change management and audit management; Furthermore, the management of version uses WinCVS to manage; this job promotes the usability of version, and provides the evidences for evolution of version.
