For the past few years, with the development of the application and the enhancing function of embedded systems, more and more data will be processed. It is a very important problem that developers of embedded systems must think over how to organize and manage these data efficiently. So, embedded database emerge as the times require. At present, although many famous international and domestic companies have researched and developed the products of embedded database, they have not form an uniform standard because of the characteristic of embedded database field. Furthermore these products need some resources of embedded systems, commonly hundreds of kilo bytes. This requirement of resource is too high to many embedded systems. At the same time, the structures and the working environment of embedded systems are so different that these products can't apply to embedded systems with various functions on different platforms. So these products are not universal.This thesis puts forward an universal model of embedded database, and defines the software and hardware interface of this model. It studies pivotal problems of this model and develop an embedded database platform. This platform integrated with software and hardware is relative independent. It has the characters comparing to the other embedded database products:1. Universal. This embedded database needn't embedded operating system and the embedded system which use the embedded database need not to extend memory.2. Convenient. This embedded database adopts universal standards of electric. The embedded systems can integrate it into them in accordance with these criterions. The embedded systems only transfer data to it according with these criterions and needn't to manage database. So, it's very convenient.At last, the thesis realizes a system of universal embedded database based on this model, completes the design of the hardware circuits and software. Then it applies this embedded database platform to Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). This embedded database will manage the data such as temperature, pressure, voltage and acceleration that come from TPMS effectively when automobiles are running. It makes TPMS can analyze the status of driving car scientifically and provide reliable tire information.
