Research On Grid-based Service Discovering

With the increase of the requirement of the service, a single high-performance computer isn't competent to settle problems about the super large-scale. So geographically distributed and heterogeneous resources linked through a high speed network are needed to realize the overall sharing of the resources, including calculating resource, storing resource, information resources, knowledge resource and so on, dispel "detached island" of information, and solve the large-scale problem together. Grid is a kind of new information technology and was developed in the world in recent years, it was a new generation infrastructure established on the internet, Its core idea is just various resource sharing in the environment of distributing system.In the traditional single computer and cluster system, the distribution of resources is centralized. Before they are used, these resources are located fast and reliably and the influence of resource discovery to the performance of application is small. But in grid computing, because of wide distribute of resources and the existing the limit of bandwidth and delay and unreliability of network in current Internet, the discovery of resources in the wide area range will influence the computing performance to a great extent, therefore the power of resources discovery has determined use factor and friendly degree directly in grid.The author of this paper is on the basis of studying the relevant technology of grid, under the research backgrounds of the Nature and Scientific Fund Project in Tianjin. Through studying and analyzing the grid architecture-OGSA and the supporting platform-Globus, the paper have probed into some key technology of realizing grid application, especially the service discovery on the Globus platform . I have done some concrete jobs in the following respects:(l)Explain and define the meaning of Grid and Grid Computing, the background of grid's emergence and introduce the domestic and international current research and development situation of grid.(2)Analyses the universal grid architecture : the Five Sand Filter Structure and the Open Grid Service Architecture OGSA.(3)Compare the model of resource and service discovery in grid. Points out there advantages and disadvantages.(4)Analyses the Globus project and the Globus Platform(or called Globus toolkits), and explain the installation of the Globus under Linux and Windows environment.(5)Take ResourcediscoveryService as an example make the discuss and analyses of the key technology of the service discovery on the Globus platform...
