The interconnection and intercommunication between Web Services is the foundation of whether the technology of Web Service can be widespread applied and reliably integrated. Therefore, the conformance testing of Web service interfaces is a key technology to promote the application and development of the technology of Web Service. SOAP(Simple Object Access Protocol) is the core communication protocol between Web Services, and WSDL (Web Services description language) is a standard language to define the format and content of message. Therefore, it is the conformance testing of WSDL/SOAP interfaces that is the key to guarantee the interconnection and intercommunication between Web Services. At present, the research of testing WSDL/SOAP interfaces is still a brand-new research field. So, it is important to research the method of testing WSDL/SOAP interfaces and implement a testing system for WSDL/SOAP interfaces.Based on the OSI Conformance testing methodology and the theory of the conformance testing for network management interfaces, unified the characteristics of WSDL/SOAP interfaces, this paper researched the test objects, test contents and test method of the conformance testing for WSDL/SOAP interfaces. The paper paid much attention to the research of how to generate test cases automatically for WSDL/SOAP interfaces. A method of how to automatically generate test steps from WSDL file is proposed. And then, the paper researched a strategy to generate a complete suite of test cases automatically. Take this method as instruction, the testing system for WSDL/SOAP interfaces was designed and implemented. Finally, two complex and detailed experiments proved its superiority.
