Research On The GIS Application System Of City's Spatial-Temporal Model

In this paper, the author introduces the design and implementation of city's spatial-temporal system based on temporal GIS (TGIS) and discusses the data model of spatial-temporal database and also the implementation approach of TGIS. The application system of city's spatial-temporal database, taking Tianjin for example, realizes the implementation of organically integrated application system of temporal GIS and MIS in the field of temporal-geographic investigation on the circumstances of Windows operating system, comprehensively utilizing temporal GIS, assembling techniques, spatial database techniques and various kinds of developing software tools.The paper includes four chapters. Chapter One is the introduction, in which the background and significance of system development are illustrated, and the technical line of investigation is also advanced. Besides, the theories, present status of techniques and the soft hardware condition relating to the current database and application system are elaborated. Finally, the feasibility analysis of the system implementation is conducted. Chapter Two presents the solution of the application program in the visually integrated development environment in which Microsoft VB 6 is inserted to such components as ADO and Map Objects 2.2 based on the requirement analysis. In addition, the selection of functional system architecture design and spatial data model, and techniques of database design are provided. Chapter Three, taking Tianjin for example, illustrates in detail the conversion method of geographic coordinate on the map, map display control, inquired resulting display, three dimensional display, data management and output and printing of a map, etc. Chapter Four talked about the technical issues met in the course of system development and the corresponding solutions. Furthermore, the implementation approach of the network analysis function is discussed in this part.The implementation of this application system is of important application value, which will provide assistance to the management of spatial-temporal data, analysis of citizen's behavior pattern and also the change pattern of cybotaxis information with the time going. In addition, it will serve as references on the study of temporal-geography, city planning and services of management and decision-making.
