Since the 9.11 event, many professions find that there are many potential safety hazard among the international supply chains, expetionally the sea carrying trade. Mass destruction weapons hiding at several millions of containers are delivered to all over the world. After the 9.11 event, America custom came on the Container Security Initiative (CSI) for mainland security and to promote the security of the global floating cargo of world trade in the January 2002. Smart and Secure Tradelanes (SST) is came on by Washington accident prevention security & technology policy committee for the hold true carry out of CSI.SST is to enhance the accuracy and the security of information flow of the containers, to speed up the velocity, and to eliminate the potential safety hazard. A public information platform which could provide visualized administration, abnormal uncase autoalarm, whole course tracing from origination to destination, is built among the operators of the port and ship owners. All of informations are transparent and open-eyed. Dynamic states of the containers could be real-time remote inquired.A RFID-based electronic tag and reader of security management of container, referred to as container intelligent lock, are developed according to the CSI and SST. The electronic tag of the container is capable to abstract the open-and-close information in real-time, and send the information of container's serial number, which is reflected in the interface of the security management, the state of the door to reader.The theories of container intelligent lock, system composition, the design of hardware configuration and software development are introduced in the paper.The main contents of the paper are shown below:(1) Function design of the electronic tag and reader. Electronic tags mounting inside the containers and readers on the checkpoints are adopted for security management.(2) The design of the radio frequency modulars. The single chip transceiver nRF905 is selected, the programming and debugging tasks are completedindependently, the wireless connection of point-to-multipoint is realized, and the data are send-receive credible.(3) Type selection and design of control chip. MSP430F serial 16 bit microprosessor is selected to achieve several functions: controlling of the system, radio frequency sending of data, radio frequency receiving of data, and abnormal uncase alarm.(4) A security management interface of container is built.The information of the open-and-close state could be supplied.At last, based on the summaries and conclusions of all research works, some suggestions and prospect for further researches are put forward.
