With the demand in security field of the country and economy, the technology of identity identification is one of the key technologies which our countries encouraged and developed as an emphases. Among all biometrics identification,fingerprint-based identity identification is adopted widely in identification system for its unique superiority. And it is applied increasing in the civilian fields such as telecommunicati -ons,mails,cars,web-acces,medicals, insurance,identity,electron government,banks, door lock. Fingerprint acquisition as an important process of fingerprint identification system has been focused more and more, high quality fingerprint image acquisition had became an important significant issue.This paper design and achieve a high effective and low power consumption embedded fingerprint acquisition system based profound analysis of the advanced technology of DSPand CPLD, the design adopted the FPS200 fingerprint sensor which was research by the America company named Verdicom, furthermore this system adopted the advanced technic of USB achieve the communication between the system and the computer,this design improved the transmit speed and convenience greatly.The system designed with the dsp and cpld frame. The DSP adopted TMS320vc5402,CPLD adopted EPM7128SLC84,this design predigest the hardware compose greatly and advanced the dependability. The main job of this paper as follow:go deep into study the actuality and development in this field allover the country and abroad and designed the whole frame and select the chip;go deep into study the characteristic of the chip such as DSP/CPLD/FPS200 etc,then design the circuitry of the system and make the PCB of the system based on the tool of PROTEL which is a software in circuity design field;achieve the VHDL language program design in the CPLD IDE Quartus II after deep into study the CPLD design,design the software (include the initialize program,fingerprint acquisition program,data transmission program) of the TMS320VC5402DSP in the IDE CCS2.0;design the USB program and the Windows software;At last achieved online debug and gained the expectant experiment data.This system import the technic such as dsp,cpld,usb to Fingerprint Acquisition field,adopted these chip will advance dependability, speed, stability greatly than the traditional Single Chip Micyoco and schism element,furthermore the cubage of the board reduced greatly and power consumption depressed highly. This create an advantage for the fingerprint technic come into the civilian field.the efficiency of fingerprint acquisition is high,the speed of the process is fast and reliable.and had a quite strong worth and practicality.
