With the development of modern technology, products become more and moremulti-functional, giving users more and more facilities. However, the manipulators'physical or functional degeneration during long course of product using has beenignored for most product designs. Therefore, PhD Lu, a scholar from University ofSouthern California in USA, put forward the conception of Inspiring Engineering. It isconcerned with establishing a new scientific foundation which integrates human systemtheories with modern technologies to develop a new generation of products that cansimultaneously inspire human potentials while achieving their intended functionalpurposes.Considering the wide application of the mouse and the importance of bloodcirculation parameters and blood oxygen saturation in the evaluation of humancardiovascular and respiration systems, a design of a novel type of mouse basing on theconception of Inspiring Engineering had been discussed in this paper. This new mouseconsists of all the basic components of a conventional computer mouse as a pointingdevice. Additionally, it also includes a few strategically embedded sensors, which cancontinuously measure the blood circulation parameters and the blood oxygen saturationof the users and can intelligently analyze their physical status.What had been introduced and discussed mainly in this thesis include: thebio-signals detecting system's design and the research of data processing methods. Theoutstanding point lies in the following three aspects:First, based on the Inspiring Engineering theory and high-performance MCU, thebio-signals detecting system is designed, which is suit for the new generation ofinspiring products. Because the core component of the detecting system has a highresolution Σ-?ADC, the system augments dynamic range of the signal with theresult that the requirement for user being detected is reduced.Second, the paper put forward a novel method used to solve the problem that themass of the acquisition data is inutility.Third, the mathematical morphology is discussed in this paper and its applicationin PPG is also presented. It has excellent capability in the removal of MovementArtifacts.
