Research And Application Of Mobile Agent Technology In Broadband PLC Network Management

With the constant development of broadband PLC network, network management isgetting more and more important. Meanwhile the traditional network management modecannot meet the needs of broadband PLC network due to its characteristics. For the purposeof solving this problem, we discussed a new strategy for boradband PLC networkmanagement that is based on mobile agent. A Mobile agent-based management model forbroadband PLC network is designed and its elementary functions modules are also described.Moreover, the special network management mobile agent is designed using IBM's Aglets andthe agent's basic behaviors are emulated too. By the comparison between the conventionalSNMP network management and mobile agent based broadband PLC network management,the new management has good performance in both throughput and response time, so that itis quite feasible. In order to deal with the network routing problem, a routing algorithm usingmobile agent is proposed. Lastly, the applying of improved AntNet algorithm to broadbandPLC network management is introduced.
