Design And Implementation Of Virtual Network Lab Based On Internet

With the fast development of computer science and network technology, remote education as a new education mode has already been more and more widely used. A new education method, building virtual laboratory, has been proposed in remote education field in recent years. Computer Network is an important course for collage students, and it has focused more and more attention.By analyzing and summarizing the existing computer network course virtual lab system, the thesis proposes a computer network virtual lab system based on Internet. The system uses SimJava as the discrete event simulation engine and builds layer component in terms of the OSI Model. During experiment, students can clearly understand the behavior in the network node and the protocol of each layer of network.The client of the system is implemented with Java Applet, and the virtual network component is implemented with JavaBeans. Students can build node and network topology on the experiment system. The result is expressed by the animation and dynamically updated trace window. Students can also write protocol class by extending the layer module class.
