In recent years, the technology of computer and network has developed at full speed, which has brought not only challenges but also opportunity for traditional education mode, how to seize the opportunity and meet the challenge will be the key of transforming the traditional education mode into modernized education mode. In numerous modernized teaching ways, the remote education over network is playing a more and more important role. With the development of remote education, how to establish virtual laboratory and provide condition for students to operate the experiments over network has become an important research direction. The subject of this thesis is "research and development of the web-based virtual laboratory of control system", the starting point is exactly in view of this. On the basis of analyzing and researching various web-based virtual experiments abroad in depth, a web-based virtual laboratory server software VLab is proposed and developed, six experiments of single and double inverted pendulum are established, and the system is issued over Internet successfully. Thestructure of this thesis is arranged as follows:In Chapter One, an introduction is given for existing virtual laboratories. Numerous web-based virtual experiments are classified according to their differences of operation principle, their advantages and shortcomings are analyzed, and the basic scheme of this thesis is put forward.In Chapter Two, the VLab server software is designed and developed. On the basis of the basic scheme brought forward in first chapter, this chapter discusses in detail about the overall scheme of the web-based virtual laboratory server software VLab, the choice of the developing tools and the transfer way between VLab and Matlab, the realization of functions of VLab server's main program and its experiment management program, and the communication protocol which the software used.Modeling of controlled process and designing of control algorithms for the experiments is given in Chapter Three. Take inverted pendulum as an example, first, the modeling and controller designing of single and double inverted pendulum is introduced, the method of adding Matlab/Simulink experiment models to the web-based virtual laboratory is given, the physical single inverted pendulum is controlled with PID control and state feedback control algorithms, and the results is analyzed, compared properly with corresponding simulations.In Chapter Four, the interface of web-based virtual experiment is designed. First, the arrangement of the interface virtual experiment and the modularization design method are analyzed as a whole, then , take inverted pendulum as an example, the realization of the inverted pendulum cartoon, and the method of expanding inverted pendulum from single to double are explained,. At last, on the basis of analyzing various kinds of feasible methods of issuing the web site to Internet at present, the most suited issuing way is selected and succeeded in issues it to Internet with the relatively low expenses.Summarization of the thesis and prospect for virtual laboratory are given in Chapter Five.
