Design And Implementation Of Geological Reserves Management System For An-qing Copper Mine

Geological reserves is the foundation for mine corporations' survival and development. Whether the limited geological reserves could be efficiently managed directly affects the corporations' economy benefit and sustainable development. How to make good use of the limited geological reserves timely and exactly has become especially important to the corporations' production and business decision.The research work involved in this paper comes from the project — Geological Reserves Management System for An-qing Copper Mine, in which Central South University cooperates with An-qing Copper Mine. The main achievement of the paper is a part of the project's research. In this paper the author applies knowledge of many subjects synthetically, such as information science, computer science, geology etc. On the base of discussing the essential conception, calculation methods of geological reserves, the lean and the loss etc, according to the concrete condition of An-qing Copper Mine, the author completes the systematic analysis and total designing, puts forward a quite integrated data dictionary, studies further the main techniques to accomplish the system and analyses the run flows of major modules. Finally, taking Access as database platform and Visual Basic as developing instrument, the author completes the develop of the system and it has been launched into test run.The system can accomplish such operations as adding, editing and modifying of geology engineering sampling data, the conversion of the present mine system to this one, the calculation of the geological reserves and the management of the byproduct data, the lean and loss data, the production ore quantities, the retaining reserves etc, besides it can make various of report forms automatically.The system is developed according to the concrete condition of An-qing Copper Mine. However the principles and methods of geological reserves management in each mine are all the same or similar, therefore the research has definite universality and popularizing value.
