The paper is written for people's increasing attention to their health. It refers to some research findings of human health monitoring in other countries, analyzes the domestic development in related fields at present and its application in future market and puts forward a kind of multi-functional embedded human health monitoring system based on ARM.The whole system is made up of the unit for sampling signal, the unit for controlling and the unit for displaying and transmitting. Signal-sampling unit adopts the 1-Wire digital temperature sensor DS18B20 and blood pressure module SWB01.Controlling unit chooses the ARM-based microprocessor LPC2119 made by the company of PHILIPS. Unit for displaying and transmitting fulfills this system's several functions by spot display, wired transmission and wireless transmission. This system is designed to meet the needs in different situations and has broad prospects for application for its utility, reliability and expansibility. The paper first introduces the purpose and meaning of monitoring human health, followed by the presentation of the system's general designing scheme, the illustration of its each unit and the detailed explanation of its hardware and software. The key point of the paper is the designing based on ARM embedded controlling unit. The chip of LPC2119 is introduced, including the core of the microprocessor, the mode of the processor, registers, memory system, the mode of addressing and interrupt and collecting, receiving and transmitting of the collected information by the system's controlling unit.
