In this paper, the main research is the profits mining problem, which is under the instruction of microcosmic economic. The content that this paper mainly involves is the problem of merchandise choice and catalogue partition. Though in the data mining, there're only a few theories frame which were put forward, it was also considered the most outstanding model. In 1998, Jon Kleinberg and somebody else introduced the microcosmic economic into data mining. They regarded the data mining as an activity, and they used the customer's information to make the income of the business enterprise maximize. The viewpoint of microcosmic economic is the foundation of data mining, and it looks the problem that the business enterprise faced as an optimization problem. The data mining looks for interesting model from data. The interesting model means those whick can make a decision for the business enterprise, and then it can increase the effect.One of the obstacles of the data mining application is that between the according to statistics of the model sample and according to the difference of the worth which is between the decision and the support. In 2002, Ke Wang and somebody else was put forward a theory, which used the profits mining method to decrease this difference. Giving an aggregation of the history trade, and the target merchandise chosend in advance, profits mining can make a model for the intending consumer to recommend target merchandise and to get most profitses.Profits mining is based on the viewpoint of microcosmic economic, and it uses the knowledge which is gained from the data mining method to acquire higher profits for purpose. Profits mining is mainly research the data mining method, with which the business and enterprise can acquire the biggest profits. It is a newly arisen data mining method in the recent years, and it is also the end target of the data mining. It applies the data mining method into practice. Profit mining mainly includes the merchandise choice problem and catalogue partition problem.
