Study On Management Of Books Distribution Way In Lanzhou University Press

With the development of reformation in distribution of book market after 1982, condition that all books distributed by Xinhua Bookstore was changed. The mode got to the end and a multi-way mode of distribution came into being.After joining the WTO, the government of China promised to open the publishing industry. Restrict on quantity, district and percentage of shares for foreign investment in distribution has been canceled since December 1,2004. Impact of foreign investment in distribution is obvious. Compared with central presses, local presses and professional presses, university presses are more accessible to foreign investment because of their small scales, single operation scopes and rigescent management system.As a university press located in the northwest of China, it is vital to find distribution way which suits itself, to win the end-users in the furious competition for Lanzhou University Press.To Lanzhou University Press, the existing way of distribution is something too outdated, and not flexible enough. There are many kinds of books, and the existing way of distributing books doesn't suit all books. All these prevent the Press from establishing a mode suit each book, and hold back the development of the Press.Based on the actual condition of Lanzhou University Press, after classifying and analyzing the characteristics of the existing books, special mode of distribution was established according to the characteristics of each kind of books in this article. At the end of the article, management of different distributing ways is studied and discussed.
