The Design And Implementation Of Printing Station Based On DICOM Standard

Picture Achieving and Communication System (PACS) is a hot-point in the field of processing and transmission of digital medical images. Digital imaging and Communication In Medical (DICOM 3.0) protocol is an internal standard for processing and communication for images, and almost all the medical modalities support DICOM protocol.Printing Management Service is an important part of PACS and it must be designed according to DICOM standard. In this part, we first summarized the information related with the communication model and printing management service in DICOM standard and described the function of printing management service. This paper devided the printing management module into three layers: device layer, Dicom print layer, GUI layer and it use the UML tool to analyse the class structure and work flow of each layer. The research scope of this dissertation is not limited to what's introduced above, it also enabled functionalities of work station which assigns printing tasks to different printing devices. Meanwhile, it also utilizes printing task reassignment, and image conversion.The summary section of this dissertation gives a brief description on challenges encountered, and some new thoughts on the direction of Printing Station is also included.It's just been a short time period since the concept of print station was first brought to China, it's new and still in a preliminarily research stage, and that's why it's a little bit too early to jump to the conclusion regarding what kinds of functionalities should be included in a printing station. Due to this situation, this dissertation just provides a preliminary design and implementation strategy according to specific customers' requirement. It's a long way to run to further-develop and improve the printing station to a more comprehensive and powerful degree.
