Data Warehouse Application Research In Telecom Management Analysis System

Data Warehouse is a technology which is focused in decision-making. Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) tells what has happened and Data Mining tells what will happen by accumulating data of the last several months. As a new technology, it is used widely in the trade which there is much data in , just like telecom companies and banks. For a simple example , in telecom trade there are five telecom companies in China. Each of the five expects to be the NO.l in the field. So each of them has constructed the data warehouse. But by now none of them has succeeded about associating with decision-making and the data warehouse closely. It is studied in the article how to construct the data warehouse structure successfully and how to serve for building the OLAP report in data warehouse in China by carrying out the questions of constructing and implementing "Management Analysis System of the Union Company in Henan".First of all ,the data warehouse and OLAP is discussed .In it, the concepts and the four characters of the data warehouse and the concepts of OLAP and multidimensional database are talked about. This section prepares for the rest.In the next place, by talking about "Management Analysis System of the Union Company in Henan", the shortcoming of the data warehouse in telecom is pointed out and a new data warehouse structure with the Operational Data Store (ODS) layer is given out. The advantages of the ODS layer and which questions to be carried out by using it are talked about. The database structure of "Management Analysis System of the Union Company in Henan" is listed to instruct the position of ODS layer which is used to data conversion, data cleanout, up to data warehouse and down to every data source.In the next place, by talking about the OLAP session of "Management Analysis System of the Union Company in Henan", the advantage of ODS layer is discussed. It is a difficult question that how to pick up data from data warehouse to form the OLAP report forms. For a example—"the OLAP subject of mobile phone sale", ,the procedure of picking up data from data warehouse to form OLAP report form istalked about ,and a solution is given out, and the advantage of the solution is also discussed by comparing the other solutions.In the end, the solution with the ODS layer about data warehouse in this article has flexibly satisfy the requirement of the telecom corporation. And by now ,there is less solution with ODS layer in telecom. But it has had already some disadvantages. And some questions are pointed out about this solution.
