With the development of computer, semiconductor, electron technology and the performance of embedded-microprocessor have a great improvement, and it make the embedded system have a wide range of applications in many fields. The system of data acquisition and display control based on VxWorks in infantry tank is specific application of embedded system in data acquisition and control system. It will provide high reliability, superior performance of hardware and software for Informationization and digitization of Infantry tank.The design uses an embedded computer PC/104 486DX (display control terminal), Double-redundant structure LPC2294 (data acquisition and control) as the core hardware platform and an embedded real-time operating system VxWorks as the software platform. It reflects the general design process in the embedded system of acquisition and control. The collection of data will be dealed with by LPC2294 in Monitoring module and transmitted to the corresponding control terminals by CAN bus communication networks, The Control terminals display the results of data in the form of graphics, Driver transmit the results to collection and control terminals with graphics and superior orders.The main content of the study: Firstly, A general framework and functional modules division of data acquisition and display control terminal based on VxWorks are concluded after a deep analysis of the requirement of improving on the Infantry tank. PC/104 486DX embedded computer (display control terminal) and Double-redundant structure LPC2294 (data acquisition and control) are selected as core hardware platforms. The system uses VxWorks, an embedded real-time multi-task operation system in order to improve the system real-time performance. Tasks are divided into different priority level and work in way of interrupt. Double-redundant structure design guarantees the system stability. The way of Modular software design shorten development cycle, making expanding and update convenient. Secondly. CAN bus selected as communication network. CANcommunication protocol based on data priority is established. Thirdly, CAN controller driver base on VxWorks is designed. At last, GUI (Graphical User Interface) use bitmap as background shows as well as double buffer technology, it solves the difficulties of GUI applications based on Vx Works and achieves good performance in display control terminal.Finally, the paper gives a comprehensive assessment of the finished system, makes a summary of it and shows the future direction.
